COMPOSITION:

100 ml suspension contains:

 Albendazole (methyl carbamate-5N-propylthio-2-benzimidazole) 10 g

 Excipients

 Monopropylene glycol,

 Carboxymethylcellulose,

 Sodium benzoate,

 Demineralized water/purified up to 100 ml.

 Description

ASCACID 10% product is particularly active against all species of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes (adults, larvae, eggs), trematodes (Fasciola) and cestodes (their scolex and segments). 

INDICATIONS:

For cattle, sheep. 

ASCACID 10% contains a benzimidazole class endoparasitic that is active against gastrointestinal and lung nematode species (adults, larvae, eggs), trematodes(Fasciola) and cestodes (scolex and segments). 

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Considering its potentially teratogenic and embryotoxic effect, not to be administrated on large ruminants during first 45 days of gestation, and on small ruminants, during the first month of gestation. 

SIDE EFFECTS:

The product is well tolerated in therapeutic doses. If you experience severe effects or other effects not listed in this leaflet, urgently notify the veterinarian. 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

ASCACID 10% is administered orally by syringe, in fastening stage in a single dose of 7.5 mg albendazole/kg body weight (3,75 ml product to 50 kg body weight) in sheep and of 10 mg/kg body weight (10 ml at 100 kg body weight) in cattle.

Not to be associated with cimetidine and praziquantel because they decrease the absorption of albendazole by modifying the pH in the rumen. 

To be given only when indicated by veterinarian. 

Shake well before use. 

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

Withdrawal period since the last administration until consumption is of 27 days for meat, offal in cattle, 7 days in sheep and 3 days for milk.
